Year 6 have had a brilliant start to the year. We have already made some wonderful memories.
We kick-started the year by writing our own poems based on "The Blitz", which we performed at our "All Saints Poetry Slam!"
We have also been looking at news reports and had a visit from a local reporter who told us all about life as a journalist and what it takes to meet deadlines for the local paper.
In maths we have been getting to grips with some more challenging concepts such as algebra and BODMAS. The children have really enjoyed learning about the order of operations and have used this to help them solve a range of word problems.
Our topic has inspired us to create some "Blitz" artwork which is on display in the classroom.
We have already had some children participating in fund-raising activities and we will continue to organise some more to help us with the cost of our school trips.
Moving forward, we still have many more exciting things planned. We are of course especially excited about our trip to the Imperial War museum on the 7th of November.
Please make sure that children continue to have their P.E kits in Monday to Friday as our timetable is often subject to change and sometimes there may be a sports trial that your child may wish to attend.
In preparation for secondary school we also ask that your child comes equipped with everything that they will need during their lesson; this includes a pencil, ruler, pen, sharpener and rubber.
