Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Children with SEND at All Saints

All Saints has a proud history as a school with inclusion at the heart of everything we do.  Inclusion is one of our school values and this is evident to anyone who visits our school.

Our Vision at All Saints includes the phrases "We aim to ... enable our children to achieve their highest potential in all areas of the curriculum. We believe that everyone is a learner and every experience, a learning opportunity". We are committed to delivering inclusive educational provision, working closely with parents to ensure a personalised learning journey that achieves the best outcomes for pupils with SEN and disabilities. We do this by offering a wide range of academic and pastoral support.

If you want to find out more about how we approach special educational needs and disabilities at All Saints, you can look at our policy or speak to our SENCo who leads the school Inclusion Team.  If you are concerned about the progress your child is making or you are worried that your child is experiencing difficulties please talk initially your child’s class teacher. You can then decide together if a referral to the Inclusion Team is required.  Please also see links to our SEN Policy and Information Report and the Local Offer in Wokingham.

Our Resource

Our school has resources that children with complex physical needs can benefit from.  We have a heated outdoor swimming pool at school which we use during the summer term. Our minibus that means children can attend all activities and trips.  Children in our resource have the opportunity to attend Riding for the Disabled on a weekly basis.  Indeed, Sophie Christiansen, Paralympian Gold Dressage medallist, learnt to ride at our school.  We have a Boccia club and attend Boccia competitions.  Our building and playground is fully accessible and we have facilities in school to be able to effectively support children with health and personal care.

We have and continue to successfully support many children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.  Please contact the Wokingham Local Authority SEN team for referral information or our SENCo, Linden Wilkinson, to find out more.
